Pantanal

After an epic four day journey across Bolivia dodging the ever-present bloqueos, we made it to the Pantanal just across the border in Brazil, only to be slightly disappointed due to the weather and our "guide". However  we did come away with a few animals for our wildlife count (no jaguar though!)

A Capybara, the biggest rodent in the world

One of thousands of Caimans

A hawk

James failing at Piranha fishing (we were later told there "wasn't enough oxygen" for such an activity)

Jabulu stork with a two metre wingspan

A slightly blurry blue Macaw

Puppy attack...

Wildlife Count: Capybara, Caimans, Howler monkeys (blonde ones!), Hawks, Vultures, a tiny kitten (too dark to take photos), puppy, a swimming pig, 1000 cows (quite literally), Kingfishers, a Giant Otter from a distance, Bats (in the roof...)
Bus or train (!) hours logged: 44 hours
Mosquito Bites: 75 for Jessie (including 13 to the face), 50+ for James (can´t be bothered to count)
Stuff Lost: 0

  1. Beautiful photos of beautiful animals!
So incredibly jealous of all your travels (even such long hours on public transport haha).

I know my partner would of been super excited about giant otter!

    Best wishes :)
